Zoe-perry
Perry was born to actor Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. Her first roles on television included two roles on the show as Jackie Harris (as seen in flashback) in The ABC sitcom Roseanne as the character played by her mother. The actress did not go on to explore acting as a profession after reaching the age of adulthood due to her parents being afraid of the negative consequences stress can cause. Perry claimed that she was too nervous to be an actor during high school, but started acting in theater classes at Northwestern University as a way to meet new people after she transferred to the university from Boston University. Perry was a graduate of Boston University moved to New York in search of TV roles. She landed small parts in shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. But, her home-sickness brought her back to California in search of theater jobs. She performed on Broadway in The Other Place with her mother in the year 2013. Kevin McKidd, her father Kevin McKidd performed in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Anna Christie alongside her in 2015. In the year 2016, Perry appeared on nine episodes on ABC's drama The Family. Her father played her on her role on the ABC show Scandal. The same year her character was cast a younger version of Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) on Young Sheldon, a spin-off of the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory again as a teen model of the mother's role. Despite her family link to the character she got the role through an audition.
