Lisa Olivia Munn was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Kimberly Schmid was born in Vietnam and has Chinese roots, but her dad Winston Barrett Munn comes from an American family. Her parents divorced when she was the age of two. Her family consisted of her mother who was as a pilot in the United States Air Force, as well as her stepfather. Olivia was primarily raised in Tokyo and Japan. Although her family had moved from Oklahoma and to numerous other areas but it was in Tokyo where she got most of her schooling. In Japan, she acted as a local actress in theater performances and then became an Japanese modeling model. Olivia, who had moved with her family to Los Angeles in order to achieve her dream of becoming an actress was determined to pursue her goal after the family moved back to America. After a few minor roles, Olivia found success in her first major role as Mily Acua on the Hawaii filming of the TV series Beyond the Break 2006 and the receptionist for Rob Schneider. She is the host of G4's podcasts "The Daily Nut" and "Formula D". She enjoys surfing, which she is still practicing after the television show Beyond the Break (2006). She has also earned a black belt for taekwondo. At the age of 2000, when she turned two years older, her mother got married. Although the family moved around a frequently, her mother took her to Tokyo where she lived with the military. She studied journalism at the University of Oklahoma and also majored in Japanese, dramatic arts and drama.
